Flemington-Raritan Regional School District

Next year there will be a Bilingual program (Spanish) in one of our elementary schools. This will require a teacher who is dual certified as an ESL teacher and a Bilingual teacher. The vacancy will be with an effective date of January 1, 2014.

The position would begin as an ESL certified only position and then convert into an ESL and Bilingual certified position as of September 1, 2014.

The district have a growing Spanish population. The prospective teacher would be a member of a collaborative team of ESL teachers, and would be offered low class sizes and professional development opportunities (such as the on-site TCNJ ESL certification program).

Camden County College

Camden County College is going to have one available ESL non-credit courses that will carry starting October 14. The class is “Everyday English 1” and here is the course description: This class is for non-English speakers who have some knowledge of the English language. Students will learn grammar, reading, writing and conversation skills on an entry-intermediate level. The textbook and materials will be provided to you before the start of the class.

The course is scheduled at the Cherry Hill campus on Mondays & Wednesdays from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. The course starts on 10/14 and ends on 12/4. The pay is $40 per hour.

Full Time ESL Specialist/Administrator with some teaching responsibilities 12 month position

Minimum Qualifications: M.A. in linguistics, TESL/TEFL/TESOL or related field and teaching experience. Experience with Computer Assisted Language Learning and college level composition writing courses preferred.

Responsibilities: Assisting with field trips and sharing ad coordinative duties within the ESOL program and participating on College committees. Teaching load for fall and spring semester up to the equivalent of 6 courses, from beginning to advanced levels, as well as composition courses. Summer may include up to 6 teaching hours per week for international student programs, adult evening programs, and possible weekend programs. Position reports directly to the ESOL Director of the program.

Salary is commensurate with experience, with full benefits. Starting date will be August 1, 2012. Deadline for applications is July 15, 2012.

The Unidad Académica Campesina-Carmen Pampa (UAC-CP) is a unique college in rural Bolivia that provides access to higher education and social service extension activities for indigenous people living in one of the poorest areas of Latin America . The UAC-CP, internationally recognized for its unique approach and ability to address and dissipate root causes of poverty, is funded by the St. Paul, Minnesota-based Carmen Pampa Fund (CPF).

CPF is currently accepting applications for teaching positions in the College’s English Program for the second semester of 2012. Teachers, who receive a housing and food stipend in exchange for their work, help implement a comprehensive, standardized English curriculum using the American English File series from Oxford University Press . The College also offers the opportunity for teachers to be part of an international team of teachers working to design program standards for testing and teacher instruction.

Mercer County Hispanic Association (MECHA)

Local non-profit is looking to hire a certified ESL teacher for a part-time position available immediately, though MECHA is also hiring for other bilingual positions.

MECHA advocates for the Hispanic population and provides services to the local community through programs such as home energy assistance, housing, and immigration. For example, MECHA assists clients in foreclosure prevention and offers citizenship preparation courses.

Description
The College of New Jersey’s Institute for English as Second Language & American Studies is seeking short-term, temporary faculty for an intensive summer program for international students and non-native speakers of English. The Institute will hold classes Monday through Friday from July 5th to August 2nd, and all faculty will teach morning and afternoon sessions. Faculty must also be available from June 26th through August 8th for orientation, testing, and planning activities, including collaboration with faculty teaching American Studies.

Instructors will hold class sessions in a well-prepared, two-level curriculum; meet with students outside of class time, and be responsible for assessing student work. Lunch on class days will be provided, but housing and other expenses are not.

Minimum Requirements: BA in any liberal arts field, 18 graduate credits in TESOL, and one (1) year of ESL classroom experience.

Preferred Qualifications: MA in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or related field and two (2) or more years of teaching experience at the college level.
