Dr. Yiqiang Wu

Dr. Yiqiang Wu received his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on TESL from Texas A&M University and master’s degree in English and Linguistics from the same university. His current research includes TESL/Bilingual instructional and learning strategies, L1 and L2 skill transfer, and trouble spots in L2 learning. His latest book is entitled Teaching English to Chinese Students Effectively. He serves on the Council for the Education of Language Minority Students of the New Jersey Commission of Higher Education. He is the director of College ESL Professional Resource Center.

Dr. Jean Wong

Dr. Jean Wong earned a doctorate in Applied Linguistics from the University of California at Los Angeles. She also earned a master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from the same institution.  At Connecticut College, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, she earned a bachelor’s degree with honors and graduated summa cum laude in Chinese language and literature. Her research interests include the topics of repair, novice/ expert speaker English conversation, Conversation Analysis and second language pedagogy, and instructional materials evaluation. Her work has appeared in Applied Linguistics, Research on Language and Social Interaction, English Language Teaching Journal, International Review of Applied Linguistics, and Issues in Applied Linguistics.  She also has contributed to edited volumes (Gardner & Wagner, 2004; Richards & Seedhouse, 2005; Bowles & Seedhouse, 2007). She is currently co-authoring a book with Hansun Waring (Columbia University) entitled Conversation Analysis and Second Language Pedagogy, which will be published by Routledge.
